George Ernest McPhail, III, 71, of Huffman, Texas, died Monday, February 29, 2016, after a long battle with heart disease. George was born on June 28, 1944 in Trenton, NJ.
He was raised in Byfield, Massachusetts, where he attended Governor Dummer Academy. George honorably served in the U.S. Navy, 1961-1970,
George was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Danna (Reynolds) McPhail.
He is survived by sons George and Russell McPhail, step-son Christopher Vaughn, step-daughter Vanessa (Vaughn) Kaiser, and six beloved grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. George’s personal preference was the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

as a cryptologic technician. In his civilian life, he was a computer hardware technician and programmer for 44 years. George enjoyed amateur radio, astronomy, and sailing.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Danna (Reynolds) McPhail.
He is survived by sons George and Russell McPhail, step-son Christopher Vaughn, step-daughter Vanessa (Vaughn) Kaiser, and six beloved grandchildren.
