Guadalupe Esperanza Siliceo Gonzalez "Pitis" for family and "Lupita" for friends, 71, passed away on May 31, 2017 in Houston, Texas. She was born on December 31, 1945 to Bencar Siliceo Moreno and Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez de Siliceo.
Lupita was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, her beloved hometown. As a single mother and the head of household at the home where she, her mother, two of her brothers who were students at that time, and where then later her daughter arrived, she worked since a young age. Her main jobs for many years were on the sales area, crafting activities, as a hairstyler, and later on the administrative and management area. On her latest productive years, she did a career shift and also worked as caregiver for the elderly.
Pitis loved to cook delicious food and socializing with her friends; she enjoyed to listen 60's Rock and Roll music (her golden years); she also loved to spend hours reading; and had great times playing videogames. She also enjoyed shopping, and spent many hours knitting; but one of her strongest hobbies was to talk while drinking a cup of coffee. Everyone was welcomed to chat with her because of her friendly personality. When she was still able to drive, she encouraged others to go to Church and even transported a small group each Sunday to attend Sunday services.
She was diabetic and got cancer twice. Went thru radiotherapy treatment and she lost her voice because of required procedures to help her to breathe. Her smoking habits for more than 50 years brought her multiple health problems on her last years. Her main hobby on her latest years was Facebook; she used it to keep in touch with her old friends and family from Mexico, and also to try to encourage smokers to leave that addiction showing herself as an example of the consequences because of that mortal habit.
Lupita is survived by her only daughter, Elizabeth Moreno Siliceo de Treviño & husband Elias Treviño; grandchildren, Elizabeth Treviño Moreno, Ely Ann Treviño Moreno, and Elias Treviño Moreno.
For her brother, Sergio Siliceo, & wife Maricela Montemayor de Siliceo and their children Maricela, Sergio and Rene; Her sister in law Martha Morales de Siliceo, her niece Rosa Melendez & husband Freddy Melendez and their children; nephew Bencar Siliceo, wife and children Benny and Elizabeth; Jose Angel Siliceo, wife and their son; her nephew Carlos Siliceo, her nephew Gerardo Siliceo and his son Xavier; her niece Martha Martinez, & husband Jose Martinez, and their children Aiden, Aliyah and Ayleen; her cousin David Ortiz Valdez, niece Dyna Julieta Ortiz de Creado & husband David Creado, and their children Valeria, Mauricio and Erick. Nephew David Ortiz de la Cerda, & wife Ileana Morales and their son Samuel, and niece Diomara Ortiz de la Cerda. For her half-brother, Carlos Siliceo, and her half-sister, Liliana Siliceo. And many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces by her mom' and her dad' sides, and multiple friends that she kept on her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her dad Bencar Siliceo Moreno, her mom Ma. Guadalupe Gonzalez de Siliceo, her brothers, Bencar and Rolando Siliceo; and her cousin, which was a sister for her, Julieta de la Cerda de Ortiz.
A memorial service will be held on Monday evening, June 5 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service.

Lupita nació en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, su querida ciudad natal. Como madre soltera y cabeza de familia en el hogar donde ella, su madre, dos de sus hermanos que eran estudiantes en ese momento, y donde más tarde su hija llegó, trabajó desde muy joven. Sus principales trabajos durante muchos años fueron en el área de ventas, actividades de elaboración, como peluquero, y más tarde en el área administrativa y de gestión. En sus últimos años productivos, hizo un cambio de carrera y también trabajó como cuidadora de ancianos.
A Pitis le encantaba cocinar y lo hacia deliciosamente. Le gustaba socializar con sus amigos; disfrutaba de escuchar música de Rock and Roll de los 60's su época de oro; le encantaba pasar horas leyendo, y disfrutaba mucho tambien de los videojuegos. Le encantaba ir de compras, y pasaba muchas horas tejiendo; Pero una de sus aficiones más fuertes era platicar mientras bebía una taza de café. Todo el mundo se sentia bienvenido a charlar con ella debido a su personalidad amistosa. Cuando todavía podia conducir, animó a otros a ir a la Iglesia e incluso transportó un pequeño grupo cada domingo para asistir a los servicios dominicales.
Era diabética y tuvo cáncer dos veces. Pasó por el tratamiento de radioterapia y perdió la voz debido a los procedimientos necesarios para ayudarla a respirar. Sus hábitos de fumar durante más de 50 años le trajeron múltiples problemas de salud en sus últimos años. Su pasatiempo principal en sus ultimos años fue estar en Facebook; ella lo usaba para mantenerse en contacto con sus viejos amigos y familiares en México, y tambien para tratar de alentar a los fumadores a dejar esa adicción, mostrándose como un ejemplo de las consecuencias debidas a ese hábito mortal.
Lupita es sobrevivida por su única hija, Elizabeth Moreno Siliceo de Treviño y marido Elias Treviño; Nietos, Elizabeth Treviño Moreno, Ely Ann Treviño Moreno y Elias Treviño Moreno.
