Steven Henry Whitton, 62, of Katy, Texas lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday December 4th, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8th at Champion Forest Baptist Church (15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, TX 77069) with visitation at 2pm and the funeral at 3pm, followed by burial at Carmen Nelson Bostick Historic Cemetery (12317 Holderreith Road, Tomball, TX 77375).

Steve was born in Cleveland, Texas to parents Earl & Wilma Whitton. He had a successful career in law enforcement and loved serving his community. Steve loved his family and friends unconditionally. He was a remarkable, loving man who would do anything for those he cared about and made a lasting impression on all he met.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn of 42 years; his daughters, Christie and husband Richard Kler, and Sara Whitton; his grandchildren, Caden and Bryce Kler; his mother, Wilma Vines; sister, Linda Waters and many loving nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

He will be reconnected in Heaven with his father, Earl Avery Whitton; brother, Earl Whitton; sisters, Ava Shirley and Barbara Mullins; brothers-in-law, Don Parker and Allen Perry; sister-in-law, Robin Wilkerson; and many friends.

Steve's contribution to the safety, security and general betterment of Greenwood Forest was notable at the least. Those of us who knew him and were lucky enough to work with him in these efforts will always be indebted to him. Thanks again Steve!
