O'Reba "Reba" Hussey

O’Reba “Reba” Hussey, age 86  of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026.  She was born in Normangee, Texas, on July 27, 1939, to parents Bennie Earl and Allie Orene Hooper.  Reba grew up in Sweeny, Texas, and moved to Houston in 1962.

Reba was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael P. Hussey; her parents; and her brother, George H. Hooper.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Coby Collier; her daughters, Karen Gilbert and husband, Mike, and Denise Stover and husband, Stanley; and her sister, Melba Butler and husband, Jim Butler.  

Reba also leaves behind five stepchildren, as well as a legacy of love through her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Reba dedicated 30 years of her career to Shell Chemical Company, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, along with her warm and fun spirit.

In her free time, Reba found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, whom she loved so deeply and was extremely proud of. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around her.  Reba will be remembered for the special moments she shared with family and friends.

Reba had a strong passion for sports, faithfully supporting and cheering on Houston teams, and she also enjoyed many years of watching PGA golf.

Reba’s life was a testament to her faith in the Lord, her resilience, and her unwavering love for family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Services are scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church (15235 Spring Cypress Rd., Cypress, Texas 77429) with the Visitation starting at 10am and the Funeral Service beginning at 11am.
