In Memory of
Darryl "D.J." Brignac II
-

Darryl “D.J.” Brignac II, 48, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 29, 2025. Born on February 18, 1977, D.J. was the eldest son and firstborn to Glenda Barras and Darryl Joseph Brignac I. He was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, a foundation that guided him throughout his life.
D.J. attended James Madison High School, where he played football and built lifelong friendships. He later pursued his passion for mechanics, working at several companies throughout his career, including Cotton, Shalom, and Industrial Disposal Services (IDS). A skilled auto and heavy machinery mechanic, D.J. could fix just about anything with parts and determination. Friends, family, and employers alike marveled at his skill and ability to understand machines—a talent that earned him respect and admiration everywhere he worked.
D.J. had a gift for making people feel special. If he loved you, you were family. He was extremely proud of his heritage, especially the Brignac name, and carried it like a badge of honor.
Above all, D.J. cherished his son, Darryl “Trey” Brignac III. Being a father was his greatest pride, and his love for Trey was evident in every moment they shared. He also held a special bond with his mother, Glenda Barras, and his sister, Celicia, who will forever treasure his memory. D.J. is preceded in death by his father, Darryl J. Brignac I, and his sister, Kerethea, and is now reunited with them in peace.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate D.J.’s life on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. His legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
