Timothy "Teejay" Mozia

Timothy "Teejay" Mozia, an intelligent, charismatic, light hearted man with a timeless sense of humor passed on after celebrating a birthday at the age of 41, August 25, 2024 in Sugar Land, Texas. 

He was born August 22, 1983 in Kaduna, Nigeria to Timothy Ugochukwu Mozia and Valentina Ngozi Mozia. 

In his early life, Teejay grew up and was actively involved in music and media departments at Chapel of Praise. He was a star soccer athlete at Torrance High School, Torrance, California where he graduated in 2001. He then went to University of Houston in Houston Texas, but desired to be back in California. He then went to California State University, Dominguez Hills for his Bachelors in Communications, where he met Yahnelda Renee Cook whom he married March 19, 2009. During the course of their time together, he discovered his passion for hands-on technology and worked with companies such as Time Warner and AT&T setting foundations for new technologies which we use today. He also served as a member on the technology team at Metro Church of Christ where they worshipped before moving his family to Houston, Texas. He used his technological passion to serve the Lord and community at City Church. He then found work at Xfinity where he started from ground zero and quickly progressed through four (4) promotions to Technician Supervisor. In his love for technology, he started gaming and streaming and then worked for APPLE. 

Teejay is survived by his loving wife, Yahnelda Renee Mozia; their two (2) children Jayah Rechanne Ngozi Mozia, 18, and Jahsiah Timothy Anenechukwu Mozia, 15, his mother Valentina Mozia of Sugar Land, Texas, his father Timothy Mozia and his wife Helen Mozia of Atlanta, Georgia, and brother Etan Mozia of Torrance, Califronia along with a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces and a nephew and extended family.

Visitation (viewing) will be held at 13501 Alief Clodine Road Houston, Texas 77082 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday September 6, 2024.     

Services will be held on Saturday September 7, 2024 at RCCG Pavilion of Redemption from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon).  

Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 1:00 pm at 12800 Westheimer Road Houston, TX 77077. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to help with the children, accrued medical expenses, and any outstanding expenses for preparations. Thank you.
