Robert Shane Garza went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the age of 54. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin who will be deeply missed by his family.

Rob was the proud son of Frank and Carol Garza and brother to Patricia Wilson. He was born April 5, 1964 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended Hahn American High School in Germany where he played his favorite sport of basketball. After graduating in 1982, he attended The University of Texas at Austin where he earned his B.S. in Advertising.  He was a very talented artist who loved to paint, draw, and write.

Rob is survived by his children, Grant Patrick, Allison Grace, and Andrew Robert Garza whom he loved dearly. 

A celebration of Rob’s life will take place in San Antonio, Texas with his family.

We sure do miss you Rob. You'll always be remembered to me as a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor.Rest easy, my friend.

We love and miss Rob he will forever be in our heart. We know he is in the loving embrace of Nanny and Poppy and lots of other family. He will be a guardian angel for his two sons and daughter.

I am an old colleague of Rob. I always enjoyed working with him ,it was good fun and Rob had a great sense of humor. At the same time he was very good in what he did. He will be missed. Thanks Rob for everything.

RIP my friend and we’ll have a Hahn reunion in Heaven some day??

I went to school with Rob until his move to Germany. We reconnected after our 10 year SV reunion. Rob was just a so unique! He was creative beyond all boundaries and had a wicked sense of humor. He also helped raise three amazing kids. What a wonderful legacy! He will be missed by so very many. My prayers for all those missing him today. ❤️

I remember Rob making a couple of pieces of art in graphics class at Hahn High in Germany, that I've since shared on Facebook. I wish I'd kept them, as I had scanned them to my computer one year and threw them away. One was like an advertisement for Canyon Lake, Texas, and the other was dark humor - it said I got bombed at the 1980 Munchen Oktoberfest, with broken beer kegs on either side of it (the year there was a bomb attack there.) He's always had a unique sense of humor. I'm really going to miss his dad jokes and trivia questions on Facebook. I feel so much for his family. He is missed by many.

I met Rob some 25+ years ago. And he soon became one of my closest friends. I will always remember his personality, sense of humor and smile. My thoughts are with Grant, Allie and Drew. He loved you so much! Rest well, my friend.

I met Rob a couple of years ago. I was impressed by his integrity, his good manners and the fact that he never made a promise he could not keep. We bonded quickly and I came to appreciate our fast friendship. Last August his was the face I saw when I woke up in the recovery room at St. Luke's. He drove me home, made sure I ate, got to bed and didn't laugh when I peed my pants! I returned the favor the week before he left us and went on to his next big adventure. I miss my friend very much and always will. To his family I send light and love. To Rob, I hope you know how much I appreciated and cared for you my friend. I don't think I ever told you. I"m sorry that I never said it but I loved you very much and i'm sure glad we met. I will miss you but I will never forget you. Thank you for all the encouragement and the advice. It sure was fun while it lasted. DANGER RANGER.
