Susie Aguilar, AKA Memo, AKA Lala, died peacefully on November 17, 2018 after courageously living with pancreatic cancer for over a year. Her last breath was to "My Way" by good old Frank Sinatra, surrounded by her whole family.
She was born in San Antonio on September 12, 1936. She was always quite the character, and did it her way, indeed. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, usually in the kitchen. Her passion was cooking, and she never allowed anyone to go hungry in her home. She was a bright, outspoken, sensitive and compassionate woman. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, and friend to all. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her son, Luis Aguilar; daughters, Maria Saxe, Susie Aguilar, and Margarita Aguilar; grandchildren, Monica, Margarita, Natalie, Elliot, Jill, Brooklyn Shea, and Dillion; and great-grandchildren, Giuseppe, Chris, Martin, Sunny, Lola, Selma, and Layla. She is preceded in death by father, Bentio Trevino; mother, Susi Trevino; husband, Manuel Aguilar; and her grandson, Giuseppe Sebastianelli.
Services are planned for Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. The visitation will start at 12 noon and a prayer service will begin at 12:15PM. Interment will take place at 3:30PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. A reception will follow at her home for her friends and family.
