-

Vijay Samuel Mekala was born on April 3rd, 1950 to the late Samuel Dutt and Vijaya Grace Mekala in Andhra Pradesh, India. He moved shortly thereafter to Mumbai, India, where he worked as an Electrical Engineer and Contractor. In 1980, Vijay moved and settled in Houston, TX. Vijay is preceded by his father, Samuel Dutt Mekala and his brother William Mekala. He is survived by his mother: Vijaya Mekala, brothers: Raj and Solomon Mekala, sisters: Mary Kalawade, Asha-Margaret Cleophas, and Selena Saini, his four sons: Ashley, Jayson, Neil and Ronnie Mekala, & daughter in law: Ankitha Mekala. We take comfort in knowing that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has called one of his sons home and Vijay will always be held close to our hearts.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-5

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me besides still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me. Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
