Devin Alan Conway, “D”, of Houston TX passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at the young age of 20. Devin’s passing was sudden and unforeseen. Devin was born on April 10, 2001 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Jameelah Saleem and Richard Conway as the youngest of 3 boys.
Devin graduated from South Houston High School in 2019 and had plans to attend college with a major in business and was ambitiously working towards starting his own clothing line. He enjoyed reading, recording, both in front and behind the camera, designing cloths and shoes, eating out and trying new foods but most of all Devin loved spending time and enjoying life with his family.
Devin was kindhearted, respectful, loving, funny, and never angry. He was always smiling his amazingly contagious smile and making everyone around him laugh.
Devin is survived by his loving mother, Jameelah Saleem his father Richard Conway, his father Arthur Mercadel, 2 older brothers Davante’ Conway & Te’von Conway and little sisters Jalia Mercadel, Courtney Mercadel and Cody Mercadel. Grandmothers: Barbara Saleem & Cherry White, several aunts & uncles, a slew of cousins who were more like siblings and numerous friends.
Devin is preceded in death by his grandfather Ronald Saleem, Great grandparents; George & Ethel Decoud and Uncle Roland Saleem.
Services will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service by Pastor Cornelius. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am and the funeral will begin at 11. Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
