Michael Turner

Michael Terrence Turner, Sr., surrounded by his family, went to be with Jesus on April 11, 2019 in Houston, Texas  after a battle with lung cancer.  He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was 75 years old.
 
Mike was born on May 22, 1943 to C.V. and Ethel Margie Turner in Houston, Texas. 

His life was set on course when became a Christian as a teenager in high school and purposed to live his life according to God's principles. And in every area of life he encouraged others to do the same, especially to his children, but also any young men who were in his life.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Stone in 1962.  Anyone who knew him knows he cherished her as a gift from God, a sign of God's favor on his life. 

He served four years in the Navy as a photographer, during which time their son and daughter were born. 

He was a hard working provider, always giving his best to his work whetheremployee or employer.

He worked 35 years in the graphic arts industry in various positions from photographer, scanner operator, to management and owner/operator. He later worked for storage companies and as a chauffer often with personal protection.  He last job was security/ loss prevention at jewelry stores- which he worked at until he was hospitalized.

Mike always loved the outdoors- fishing, hunting, and enjoying the beauty of his home state of Texas- a passion he shared with others whenever he could.

He was a blessing to all he knew, treating all with love and care. Only God knows how many young men he helped put on a path to be hard working employees, loving husbands, caring fathers and responsible Christian men to bless their communities- by his help, his words and his example. 
 
Mike is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat, his daughter Lisa Turner Cilny and her husband Matthiew Sr. and son Michael Turner Jr. and his wife Andi, . He is also survived by his sister Pat Rogers and husband Paul and brother Butch Turner and his wife Barbara.  He leaves 9 grandchildren: Michael Turner and wife Leslie, Bethany Turner Bertuzzi and husband Trevor, Timothy Turner and wife Kristen, Matt Cilny, Jr., Olivia Cilny, Rachel Cilny, Josef Cilny and wife Katelyn, David Cilny and Danny Cilny. He also leaves one great-granddaughter, Brynn Olivia Turner. He also leaves many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, as well as many friends.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, C.V. and Ethel Margie Turner and granddaughter Lauren Ashley Turner.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services and viewing will be held at Christian Family Church, 5615 Queenston Blvd., Houston TX 77084 on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 9:30AM. Interment following at 1:45 pm, Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston , TX 77038.  (Those wishing to come to the cemetery should arrive between 1:20 and 1:40 and line up in lane 2 by the main admin building.  The cemetery representative will lead us to our shelter at 1:45.)
