In Memory of
Nathan Willie Talley
-

Nathan Willie Talley was born on June 22, 1962 in Moses Lake, Washington and fell asleep to await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ on November 11, 2021 in Katy, Texas.

Throughout Nathan’s childhood, he lived with his family in many places. As an adult he lived in San Diego, California from 1988 to 2011, and after California Nathan moved with his family as close to heaven as he could get, Texas!

Nathan loved God, His Word and fellowship with the Body of Christ!  One of his favorite quotes of God’s Word spoken by his Saviour Jesus Christ:

John 8:32,36  "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

One of his favorite hymns was “Let the Lower Lights Be Burning” and another, “AMAZING GRACE.”

Nathan loved Education.  Just ask his children!!   He graduated from Oak Harbour High in 1981.
He also attended 2 years at Grossmont Community College.  La Mesa, CA.
One year @ Austin CC in Austin, TX.
Two years @ University of Texas in Austin, TX

Nathan served God and Country though the United States Navy from November of 1981 to February of 2008. He retired from the Navy as a decorated First Class Petty Officer.

As Active duty in the USN he earned and served as:

P3B/C Acoustic Operator
Helicopter Search and Rescue Air Crewman/ Rescue Swimmer
SH3H Multi Sensor Operator
Recruiter Canvasser
Career Recruiter

The greatest joys of Nathan’s Life were his personal relationship with God, his wonderful wife of 30 years, Merrilee, his amazing children, Deanna Filgo and her husband Seth, his daughter Grace Elizabeth - age 16, and his son Jonathan William - age 16. Along with Merrilee and his children, Nathan is survived by his sisters, Julie Nelson, Wendy O’Brien of Washington State, Belinda Jerde and brother-in-law John Jerde as well as his grandchildren, Kaleigh Collins, and Seth Filgo Jr.

Preceding Nathan in death is his beloved grandson Jacob Collins as well as his mother and father, Willie and Sadie Talley.

Man of many talents, he blesses us with his voice, played a mean game of scrabble and chicken feet. Made me laugh. Was an amazing father to his children and grandchildren and a wonderful husband. But one thing he was known for was his love for God and God’s people. I will miss you, my dear friend.
