In Memory of
Wanda Gayle Paskie Lucas
-

Wanda Gayle Paskie Lucas peacefully passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on January 15, 1941, in Houston, Texas, Wanda lived a life rich in love, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest A. Lucas, Jr., her sister, Linda Ann Paskie Smith; her brother, William Joseph Paskie, Jr.; and her parents, William Joseph Paskie Sr. and Josephine (Jo) Dora Paskie Robinson.

Wanda graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, Houston, Texas, in 1959, where she met her husband of 50 years, Ernie. They both shared a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of their free time traveling through Texas and Mexico. Together they enjoyed countless summers at Inks Lake State Park and weekends at Matagorda. When DeLana started playing softball, Wanda enjoyed cheering her on and bonding over the sport, making cherished memories together as a family. She loved the sport and even in her final months was cheering on the Aggie’s Baseball team and the Girl’s College Softball World Series.

She is survived by her loving daughter, DeLana Lucas Henton, and her husband, Rydel; her niece, Kimberly Osborn, and her husband, Douglas; and her cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Tatum, and Colin Smith, Sawyer and Emma Henton, Brooke and Ryan Osborn, and great-nephew Rodē Paskie. Wanda also leaves behind several cousins and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held on July 26, 2024, at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM at River Pointe Church, 21000 Southwest Freeway; Richmond, Texas 77469. Family, friends, and all whose lives Wanda touched are invited to join in celebrating her memory.

Sending love and hugs to your entire family during this difficult time. Anyone who knew Wanda could see what a sweet and kind person she was and loved her family fiercely with her whole heart. We feel blessed to have had her as a neighbor and friend. I know she is at peace and so happy to be reunited with Ernie.

We called her Grandma Wanda as she was a 2nd Grandma to Mason and many of the kids. She was full of energy, happiness and wanted to be there and “do” for Mason, Colin and the boys. I recall a time she took Mason and Colin fishing to a near by lake and ROCKED it being more than a Grandma to these boys. She never tired and was an amazing wonderful person. Rest in beautiful peace, Grandma Wanda. We love you.
