Donald Hughes Shaginaw died Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Houston, TX after a short battle with leukemia. He was born May 9,1924 in Sewickley, PA. He served in the Naval Air Corps during WWII and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Gold Star. Don graduated from Duquesne University with a Business and Economics degree. Don moved to Atlanta in 1971 and was in the printing business until 1990.
Don was an active member of the Atlanta Country Club and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Joanne and a daughter, Diane. He is survived by his wife Helen McDonnold, sons Tom Shaginaw and David Holliday (Janice), brother Roy Shaginaw,grandchildren Tom Moore (Melissa), Tammy Hettrich (Doug), Teri White, Tracey (Jaime), and 5 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be April 5 at Mount Pisgah UMC at 10:00am in the North Sanctuary with a reception immediately following at The Atlanta Country Club
