My grandmother was a special lady. I was 12 when my mom and dad were married, and she treated me like a granddaughter from day one. I'll always remember a special week I spent with her one summer when I visited her in Florida. She took me to see "Star Wars" and I believe that was the last movie theater she ever went to. She was from Orange, NJ, but she acted more like a southern lady.
She had been sick for a few years now and couldn't get out of the house. For the past few years she had started giving me presents from her household knicknacks. I had told her that I didn't have alot of brick-a-brack at my home and so she started wrapping things she owned to give me at Christmas and birthdays like pictures, jars, and vases. It means alot to be able to look at those things and know she was thinking of me.
Thank you Margie Williams for your care during her last few days. I know it meant alot to her to have her sons close by during her last days caring for her. I'll certainly miss her.
