In Memory of
Doyce Olen Boyett
-

Doyce Olen Boyett, 87, of Houston, Texas, transitioned to his new home in heaven on May 17, 2023. He was born on October 17, 1935, in Blum, Texas, to Ennis and Maudice Boyett. A memorial for this beautiful man will be held at 11:30AM at Sugar Grove Church of Christ, Meadows Place (in Houston)on June 2nd. We are honored Shane Gage and Richard Fancher will officiate the ceremony.

Doyce was a Christian man who loved his Lord and his family. He was a hard worker, outspoken, generous man with a big heart. Doyce felt that every man should work six days a week. He was a man with no filter. You always knew what he was thinking and was happy to share it with you even if he should’ve kept his thoughts to himself. Doyce was extremely generous. He may not have had a lot of money but if you needed it, it was yours; no questions asked. He would figure out how to make more later. Doyce’s children always knew he loved them. He led them to salvation through Jesus. He always wanted them to do their best, work hard, always show up to work and never be late!

The love he showed his wife, Linda, has been priceless to witness. He watched over her the past seven years directing her care. If she even coughed, he made sure someone checked on her. He made bets with the nurses what her blood levels would be. He was on top of her care and made sure we immediately took care of all her needs.

Doyce graduated from Waco High School and joined the United States Army as a military policeman. He returned to Waco, met and married Linda Ivicic on January 16, 1960 in Holland, Texas. They settled in Houston where he naturally gravitated towards a life long career in the car business as salesman and manager.

Doyce is survived by his wife Linda; brother and sister-in-law Melton and Lucy Boyett; daughter, Ranessa Machann and son-in-law Steve; daughter, Regina Cook and son-in-law Michael; son, Gary Boyett and daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren: Emily and Cody Maus; Paige and Seth Bucher; Charles and Caitlyn Machann; Sarah Machann and Alex Boiwka; Jake Boyett, and great-grandchildren: Mila and Maxen Machann; Hudson and Hayden Bucher; Madison Maus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ennis and Maudice Boyett; brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Reiko Boyett; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Clifford Johnson; brother, Gary Douglas Boyett; niece, Jeanie Johnson; and nephew, Jimmy Doyce Boyett.
