In Memory of
Edgard Hanna Estephan
-

Edgard Hanna Estephan was called to heaven on September 11, 2023 at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer.

Edgard was born on October 27, 1963 in Bcharre, Lebanon to Hanna and Alice Estephan. His early life was marked with numerous difficulties, but he faced every obstacle with a tremendous amount of courage and faith, a trait that stayed with him throughout the rest of his life.

After surviving wars and violence in Lebanon, Edgard immigrated to the United States and married Julie Estephan, his loving wife of 23 years. Together, they have two daughters: Rita and Theresa Estephan.

Edgard lived and breathed for his family, and he worked long and hard hours remodeling homes and managing a gas station to provide for them. He even went so far as to work in Bastrop, Texas, two hours away from his home in Houston, for several years during the week in order to support his family and make sure his kids had everything their hearts desired.

In addition to being a driven and family-oriented man, Edgard was also known to be one of a kind by many. He touched the lives of a great deal of people with his generous heart, bright smile, and warm presence. Even after his devastating diagnosis and through his many weeks of aggressive treatment, Edgard’s strength and positivity remained unwavering. He would always make the nurses and staff at Texas Oncology laugh every time he went in for his treatments, with his snarky jokes and humor.

Edgard was known by all in his life to be a man of incredible strength, and his fight with one of the most aggressive cancers verified that claim. He never once let cancer take away his faith, humor, courage, or love. Edgard died loving and being loved by those around him, and he will be missed tremendously. The world will never be the same again.

Edgard is preceded in death by his father, Hanna Estephan, and his mother, Alice Estephan. He leaves behind his siblings Tony Estephan, Yolla Succar, Edward Estephan, and Nelly Estephan, his wife, Julie Estephan, and his two children, Rita and Theresa Estephan.

Services will be held at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church on Monday, September 18, 2023, with the Visitation starting at 10:00am, the Rosary starting at 10:30am, and the Funeral Mass starting at 11:00am. The burial will follow at 1:00pm at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery
