Our deepest condolences for your loss of a great person and family member !

Marina Chammas, lovingly known as Marie, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer at the age of 81 in Houston, TX on August 19, 2023.
Marie was born on May 16, 1942, in Amioun, Lebanon where she was also raised. The daughter of a priest, Marie held tight to Christian values and lived a life of faith. She married the love of her life, Nehme Nehme in 1962. They were happily married for 61 years. Together, they built a beautiful family that became the center of her world. She was a dedicated mother to her five children and grandmother to her eleven grandchildren. It was Marie’s priority to teach her children the same Christian values her parents
She found her greatest delight in hosting gatherings and filling her home with family and friends. Her love for God was evident through her actions and words. An open-hearted soul, she never hesitated to welcome both friends and strangers into her home, leaving an incredible mark on those fortunate enough to cross her path. She brought a radiant light to all who knew her.
Marie's legacy of love and warmth will be carried on by her surviving spouse, Nehme Nehme, her brothers Abdo Chammas and Jacques Chammas, her cherished children, Chafic, Mirna, George, Dede, and Talal, her grandchildren Mark, Mathew, Joelle, Maria, Joe, Brian, Marina, Hannah, Helena, Oliver, and Christopher, and great-grandchild Ava. Her memory will forever light up the lives of her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents Georges and Jamileh Chammas, her brother Ibrahim, and her sister Edith.
Services to honor Marie's life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 11935 Bellfort Village Dr, Houston, TX 77031.
