In Memory of
R.C. Kyle
-

R.C. Kyle, age 84, of Sugar Land, TX, entered into the Lord’s presence on May 18, 2025, in the company of his loved ones.

He was born on October 15, 1940, in Corinth, MS to Grady Charles and Fleedie Kyle. After coming to faith in Christ at a young age, R.C. lived a life notable for devotion to faith, family, and community. Overall, his life was marked by love, humility, selflessness, and devotion to God, his family, and his country.

A Corinth native, he graduated from Corinth High School, Memphis State University, and later pursued graduate studies. R.C.’s remarkable career at Coca Cola USA, from a Territory Manager to an Account Executive, spanned 36 years and fostered lasting relationships with his customers.  He retired in December 2000, leaving a legacy of loyalty, dedication and service. He always said, “I never really had to sell Coke, it sold itself. I simply viewed my role as a goodwill ambassador- visiting, handshaking, building trust and positive relationships, and providing essentials to accommodate my accounts and customers!”

On June 30, 1963, R.C. married Anita Frances Johnson in Corinth, MS and they shared 62 joy-filled years of a loving marriage. R.C. cherished every moment of his role as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and created memories that will be treasured by them forever.  Favorite family activities were many Astros baseball games at the Astrodome in the coveted field box seats behind 3rd base and trips to Galveston Beach and the Comal River in New Braunfels with his children, and later with his 4 grandsons.
RC was often a cheering participant at his grandsons’ football, baseball and lacrosse games. Other pastimes were family card games, grilling delicious steaks and bacon wrapped shrimp, offshore fishing, and playing golf with his friends. In his later years, he enjoyed marshalling at Sugar Creek Golf Course. He and Anita also enjoyed travel/cruises to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Israel, England, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, and France….living his life to the fullest!

His service to his church community began with the Cub Scout troop and boys’ baseball team at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Memphis, TN.  After his move to Texas, he served at The Church of the Advent in Stafford, TX as an usher, lay reader, youth group leader, and participated in drama ministry as well as diocesan ministries of Cursillo and Happening.  He later served in similar roles at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sugar Land, TX.  He particularly enjoyed Holy Cross’s fall fundraiser, The Pumpkin Patch, making snow cones for the children, and serving in the Men’s Ministry.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Anita, son Shawn and daughter-in-law Kathryn of Austin, TX, daughter Paige Kyle of Colorado Springs, CO, grandsons Caleb Kyle and wife Sara of Alexandria, VA, Nathan Kyle of Dallas TX, Andrew Kyle and wife Kaeli of Irving, TX, Matthew Kyle of College Station TX, great-grandchildren Kezia and James Kyle, and sister Yvonne Alred of Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie Kyle and son Kevin Grant Kyle.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 4pm at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 5653 W Riverpark Dr., Sugar Land, TX 77479 and all are welcome to attend to honor his memory.
