Salim Gebrael El Asmar passed away on March 28, 2022 at the age of 78 in Bellaire, TX. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved wife Marcelle and his children.
Salim was born on September 25, 1943 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Throughout his life, he never compromised when it came to providing and caring for his family. He had endless patience and adoration for his children. He famously recounts the story of cutting a business trip short because his daughter missed him and asked him to come back over the phone. No matter how tired he was after a long day at work, he always greeted his family with a big smile and long lasting hugs.
He had the biggest of hearts and infinite amounts of love. He couldn't see someone in need without doing whatever was necessary to help. His home was always open to anyone who needed shelter or a good meal. Wherever Salim went, he quickly became known as the guy you could count on for help and a cup of coffee.
Salim is survived by his wife Marcelle, his five children Roula, Rouba, Dalia, Bassam and Diana and his five grandchildren Noah, Sophie, James, Aiden and Nai.
