In Memory of
Uzoamaka Pearl Obioha
-

Uzoamaka Pearl Obioha of Houston, Texas, passed away at the age of 23 suddenly, untimely, and unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2022, at her home in Houston, Texas. She was born on March 30, 1999 in Lagos, Nigeria to Uchechukwu Obioha and Tessy Okeleke.

Uzoamaka was a very kind soul and the only daughter in the family of five children.  She was loved among her friends and was a stellar singer and model.  Growing up in a home filled with boys, she had to prove herself amongst her brothers.  While her brothers won awards in athletic sports, Uzoamaka secured a spot as the number one singer in her Memorial Middle School and Hillsborough High School talent shows in Tampa, FL.  She participated in singing the national anthem in her graduation as a senior.  She also joined gospel group and toured across the U.S to sing.  Her voice was commended by all who listened.

Uzoamaka attended Prairie View A&M University and later transferred to University of Houston where she was attending and hoping to graduate with in a year and half.  She was assisted through school by her mother and had plans to invest in a marketing degree.  Other than singing, Uzoamaka enjoys reading, watching Korean dramas, anime, modeling and experimenting with makeup.  She was loved by friends at her workplace, O2 lounge, and will be missed dearly by friends in Tampa, Florida.

Uzoamaka is survived by her loving brothers, Marvin Okeleke of Lagos, Nigeria, Onochie Obioha of Houston, Texas, Jaamike Obioha of Killeen, Texas, and Yagazie Obioha of Houston, Texas.

Services will be held on September 23, 2022, at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Community (13350 Ashford Point Dr, Houston, TX 77082). Viewing will be at 9:30am, The Rosary will start at 10:00am, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30am, officiated by Rev Father Paul Chovanec.  Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery (12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077).

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations in her name be made to go fund me account: https://gofund.me/81ba3bf1

The family would like to especially thank Daniel Iyak and his family, all of Uzoamaka’s friends, Tessy’s committee members and circle of friends, and all those Uzoamaka has touched that have supported us through one means or another. There are lots of people to mention but if it were to begin it would not end for quite a while. God bless you all for your love and support.
