Donalda Gayle Dobbs Twohawks, 66, decided it was time for a new adventure October 26, 2011, and passed on with family and friends by her side in Houston, Texas.
She was born November 7, 1944, in Houston, Texas at St. Joseph’s Hospital to George and Georgia Dobbs. Her father passed away when she was three and her mother went to work at Foley’s Department Store in the Special Events Department.
Donnie Gayle went to live with her Aunt and Uncle Rosser in East Texas for a while and would return most summers – spending time with her Rosser cousins. In the Rosser home, Gayle developed a love
for art, ceramics and painting. Gayle graduated from Austin High School in Houston’s east end. Gayle was an accomplished dancer as well artisan – touring with a troupe in Europe in her early 20’s to entertain US troop abroad.
Gayle went on to graduate from beauty school and dressed hair for many years. She married several times and had one daughter, Jamie Rachael Avara Luna.
Gayle was a entrepreneur and owned numerous business including a nail salon, two ceramic shops, two night clubs, a jewellery design business, as well as a wood burning business.
Gayle’s interests were her family and friends; her dogs Aimee & Max; anything she could create with her hands; great music; and reading, reading and more reading!
Gayle is survived by her soulmate, Jim Eaglefeather; her daughter, Jamie Avara Luna and spouse Rene Luna; and her three granddaughters, Danielle Renee Luna, Kirsten Nikole Trevino and Sydney Gabriella Luna. She is also survived by numerous friends that are really considered family but are just too numerous to mention.
A life celebration is being held on Saturday, November 5 at Beresford Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. After the celebration, family and friends will gather together for food and fellowship at 12911 Meadowline Dr., Houston Texas.
