In Memory of
Norris Teola Thompson
-

Our beloved Norris Teola Thompson was born on August 11, 1934 to Ollie A. and Lillie Mae (Jones) Thompson in Caldwell, Texas (Teal’s Prairie community).

The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1941 where Norris attended school in the Houston Independent School District. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Missionary Church, where the Rev. Sims was Pastor.

Norris was innately gifted with a talent for carpentry. He chose this gift as a life-long career and was sought after throughout Texas for his special designs and carpentry work.

Norris had a humble and tender heart. He had a “second-to-none” love for children; spending countless hours entertaining his nephews, nieces and their friends with his personal resources.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents; one brother (Ollie A. Thompson, Jr.); and one sister (Patricia Ann Potter Jackson).

He leaves to cherish his memory four sons: Norris Thompson II, Kirk Thompson, Calvin Thompson and Derrick Thompson; one brother (Valvert Thompson, Sr.); three sisters (Verlene Edmond; Ada Hansford; Marie Daniel); grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
