In Memory of
Patricia Ann Ahrens
-

On January 3rd, 2007 our loving Lord opened up the gates of His eternal kingdom and welcomed a precious angel by the name of Patricia Ann Ahrens. With a smile on His face, He extended His arms and said, “Welcome my good and faithful servant”.

Pat’s journey of life began on June 16th, 1933 in Houston, TX as the only child of Clyde and Verna Fitzgerald. She grew up and spent her entire life in Houston where she attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. On October 5th, 1957 she married Erwin Ahrens with whom she had three beautiful children, Robert, Janet and Caroline. Pat cherished her children and poured her heart and soul into raising them, supporting them, nurturing them and loving them unconditionally. Being an incredible mother would truly define her life. Her mothering spirit carried on with her grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan and Chelsea. She loved to spend time with them and made the effort to do it often. She was a great mom, a terrific grandmother and a loving, caring and faithful wife. She truly loved her friends, children, grandchildren and her husband with all of her heart. She was the best friend that anyone could ever hope for. Pat loved to travel, especially enjoying her yearly outing in New Braunfels with friends and family. She loved to cook and was very good at it. She shared with and taught her children at an early age the ins-and-outs of cooking and the joy of creating a delicious meal to enjoy together with family and friends. Pat also loved to shop, especially for clothes, and her wardrobe consistently reflected her joyful and up-beat spirit. And oh yes, she loved to talk on the phone. Family and friends never doubted that Pat had time to spend talking when they called. Although Pat is no longer with us, memories of her photogenic smile, her mercy, grace, support and a heart that overflowed with love will be cherished forever by all who knew her. The world was truly a better place when she came into it and now heaven is a better place with her spirit at rest in it.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Clyde and Verna Fitzgerald. She is survived by her husband Erwin and her three children, Robert Ahrens, Janet Frankovic and Caroline Simpson. She also leaves behind her three grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Ahrens and Ryan and Chelsea Simpson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5th from 6:00-8:00 PM @ Ashford United Methodist Church in Houston, TX. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 2:00 PM @ Ashford United Methodist Church. Interment at Forest Park Cemetery with refreshments and fellowship to follow back at the church. All are invited. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Ahrens, Joseph Frankovic, Brown Osborne, Jimmy Persons, Angel Davila and Wally Simpson.

Contributions in her name and flowers can be sent to Ashford United Methodist Church.
