In Memory of
Andrew "Drew" Rios
-

Andrew “Drew” Rios passed away at the Texas Children’s hospital on August 9th in Houston, Texas at the age of 22 after facing a 2-year battle with Leukemia.

Andrew was born on April 13, 2001 in Houston, Texas to parents Karen Lizzeth Morazan Miranda and Andres Rios. During his childhood, Andrew and his father moved to Jacksonville, Florida where Andrew spent a lot of time with his cousins Christopher and Andrew J. Rios and his uncle Cristobal Rios. Eventually, Andrew and family moved back to Texas where he spent his time between Houston and Dallas amongst different family members and friends, including his cousins and siblings.

At a young age, Andrew began building an online community within the area of gaming which ultimately helped him foster the passion and skills for a pursuit of graphic design. He became interested in logo design, typography, and branding - all of which he utilized during the time he spent within the Houston car community. Andrew had a strong vision for what he wanted to create and what he hoped to achieve with these skills. He is fondly remembered by all who knew him for the value he held and the humor he maintained even throughout his tough fight with Cancer.

Andrew is survived by his parents, Karen Lizzeth Morazan Miranda and Andres Rios; siblings, Fransis Polanco and Ericsson Polanco; his girlfriend Laila; and all of his extended family members from the Rios-Rodriguez family who hold him in memory.

The funeral in honor of Andrew “Drew” Rios is scheduled for Friday August 18th at Beresford Funeral Service (13501 Alief Clodine Rd, Houston, TX 77082).

The scheduling will be as follows:

4 pm: Close Family Only
5 pm: Public Viewing
6 pm: Funeral Service
7 pm: Last Goodbyes

Further, the family would also like to thank all the nurses and hospital staff at the Texas Children’s Hospital and adjacent institutions who provided comfort, kindness, and care to Andrew during his battle with Cancer.

Drew, I will forever be thankful I was able to be your nurse over the last two years. We shared many so laughs, tears and crazy stories together. You were a true joy to take care of and I’ll miss your sassy comments. I hope there is an unlimited supply of iPhone chargers and apple Nutri-grain bars for you in Heaven! 😉
Rest easy, Drew! ❤️
