Antoine Assaf Asmar, of Houston, Texas, went to be with the lord on July 20, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born in Zahle Lebanon on June 13, 1937 to Assaf Asmar and Genevieve Alam Asmar.
Tony loved to travel and deeply enjoyed the fellowship of friends and family. Religious studies were paramount to his life. He enjoyed discussions about theology and loved spreading God’s word with all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters George Asmar, Georgette Katra, Toufic Asmar, and Marie Zakharia.
He is survived by his son Sharbel Asmar, his daughter-in-law Jessica and their three children Carmela, Preston, and Joshua. His former wife Marie Womack. His nephew Antonio Zakharia, wife Claudette, and son Zak. His nephew Joseph Zakaria, wife Mireille, and sons Joel and Daniel. His nephew Johnny Zakharia. His niece Elizabeth Haddad, daughter Sandy and son Charlie. His niece Jeanfieve Asmar and daughter Delilah. As well as many more nieces and nephews living abroad.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 am on Monday July 29th at Beresford Funeral Home, 13501 Alief Clodine Road Houston, TX 77082. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm immediately followed by an interment service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
Those wishing to offer memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the National Kidney Foundation.

You were a wonderful grandfather to my children and the only father I have ever known. I pray that the lord will welcome you into his kingdom with loving arms. Until we meet again in Heaven Love - Jessica
This man will be welcomed with open arms as he enters Heaven’s gates. He lived his final years, even as he suffered numerous health issues, witnessing and preaching to people about the Good news of salvation and God’s Word. I will certainly miss our regular chats and look forward to seeing him again in full glory.
You could hear the love of Jesus in his voice. I will miss talking with him. I know he must be enjoying being in the presence of the Lord.
