The Oil and Natural Gas Engineering group of Freese and Nichols, Inc., in Richardson, Texas, is saddened to hear about Doug. We in the drafting squad grew to appreciate the skills and expertise of this "heavy piper," the unofficial title of veteran designers of petrochemical and refinery facilities. Like many of us, Doug started "on the board" and stayed associated with energy projects throughout his career. In the world of piping drafting & design, drafters nearly always reunite with former colleagues. I'm sad I won't get to work with Doug again. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I am up in the years and Doug was older than me, so I can't really remember him inless I see his pictures. He always had a smile on his face. This is how I will remember Doug. God Bless You and the Family.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Doug for the past year as his home health nurse. Doug always had a smile on his face regardless of how he really felt...I was waiting on Doug to call and let me know when he arrived back in town from Dallas.. I am sad to hear of Doug's unexpected passing. We did not only have a nurse/patient relationship but I considered Doug a friend as well... Rest in Peace, Doug... You will be missed dearly.....

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered
“Come To Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away,
And although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay,
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

You will be missed Doug...
