Eric Glenn Stanley, born March 10, 1960 in Houston, TX. He went to Heaven to be with Jesus on January 5, 2020. Eric has resided in the Bay Area for the last 30 years, most recently in La Porte. Eric was a 33 year paraplegic who despite confinement to a wheelchair loved hunting, fishing, and old John Wayne movies. He is a born again Christian who conquered overwhelming challenges in his life. He was an inspiration to all
Eric is preceded in death by his parents Harry Baxter Stanley, Sr and Florence Alline Marrow. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Alan Wheeler of Houston, TX and Michael Adam Stanley of Tonkawa, OK; his brother, Harry Baxter Stanley, Jr. & wife Crissy Stanley of La Porte, TX; sisters, Bonnie Boyett & husband Gregg Boyett of Old River Winfree, TX, Cheri Stanley-Wright & husband Dwayne Wright of Mont Belvieu, TX, Yvonne Stanley of La Porte, and Yvette Stanley Brewer of La Porte; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 9th at First Baptist Church in La Porte, TX with a visitation starting at 9 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m. Everyone attending is invited to wear hunting camo in celebration of Eric's love of the outdoors.
