Our Dad was many things to us. He was loving, honest, hardworking, generous, thoughtful, faithful and kind. Dad was fervent in his Christian faith and lived it continually and to the fullest, exemplifying goodness and truth.
He adored his wife, his family, his grandkids, his great grandkids and was especially fond of his cat.
It didn’t take much to please Dad. He most enjoyed the simplest of pleasures: fishing, working on cars and electronics, watching westerns, listening
to Gospel and old-school Country Western music, playing with his pets, watching his grandchildren play and eating an ample serving (or servings) of beans and cornbread. He was never without something to satisfy his sweet tooth, a practice he passed on to his children and becoming something of an addiction.
Dad has always relished in a good joke and reveled in playing ornery pranks. He was never so tickled as when he successfully pulled off a prank that caused his subject to overreact as if just seeing a ghost!
In 1976, Dad started his own business, Martin Termite and Pest Control which he owned and operated until retiring in 2009 serving many clients who praise his work to this day.
Dad also served in the Army during the Korean War era.
We considered ourselves to be uniquely blessed to have a father we consider to be the greatest.
We will ever love and miss you, Dad.
