Gloria Lynn Jones Jacobs was born in Joliet, Illinois to the union of James and Kassandra Jones; she was the fifth of seven children.
Gloria was educated in the Joliet Township School District, in which she attended Joliet West High School, graduating in 1979. Further pursuing additional education in Illinois. Shortly thereafter, Gloria ventured into the Restaurant and Retail industries in management which eventually afforded her the opportunity to support her family collectively with her husband.
Gloria was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others which she incorporated into motherhood. She was devoted to
her family, a woman who felt deeply and loved fiercely. The relationship she had with her siblings was unfathomably irreplaceable. Gloria was a strong woman, who never allowed life’s challenges to alter her kind-hearted spirit. She was absolutely amazing. Gloria truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as spending time with family, indulging in herbal supplements and engaging in games of chance.
Her four beautiful children (Ryan, Cedric, Joshua and Taloria) made up the entirety of her world. She devoted her life to her children, being the best mother she could be. The bond they share will never be broken.
Today, we will celebrate her strength, elegance and wisdom and her ability to love selflessly.
Gloria Lynn Jacobs, 61 years old, of Baytown, Texas transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father James and niece Kassandra Powers.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: three dedicated sons ~ Ryan Jones, Cedric Jacobs and Joshua Jacobs; a devoted daughter ~ Taloria Jacobs; husband ~ Cedric Jacobs Sr.; a faithful mother ~ Kassandra Jones; committed siblings ~ Patricia (Isaiah) Beckum, Elizabeth (Arthur)Mosley, Debra Frazier, Phelya Jones, Kathleen (John) Hamilton and James Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
