I don't think of Uncle John without Aunt Dot, so now they are together with the Lord. The scripture "To be absent from the body is to be with Christ" is certainly fitting for this Christian man. It was always fun to go to their house growing up as a child or even when we got together as adults. I have so many fond memories, that I can't mention them all. Uncle John, you will be missed by so many. We love you and your family and thanks for all the memories. Until we meet again.!

My memories of my childhood would be incomplete without the Elam family. Jana was my dear friend from church and school and her parents treated me like family. Mr. Elam was the example I had in my life of a strong Christian father. I know that he will be greatly missed by friends and family but heaven is a better place with his presence. Much love to each of his family members, especially to Jana.

I will never forget how my Uncle John encouraged all of us to pursue a life of the mind. He had a huge intellect which remained with him. He always wanted to talk about something fascinating, especially science or engineering. And he loved us all enough to put his foot down and make us all try harder. I loved him so. Heartfelt condolences to Jana, Greg and the rest of the extended Elam family.
