Matthew William Lambeth left his earthly home to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 28 years of age. Matthew was born December 14, 1982 in Houston, Texas. His family later moved to Katy, Texas where they attended Second Baptist Church Woodway, later moving to the Katy Campus. It was during his high school years at Second Baptist Woodway that Matt asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior. After graduating from Katy High School in 2001, Matthew chose to follow in his older brother Robert's footsteps by serving his country through military service in the army. Afterward, Matthew earned a drafting certificate from Houston Community College. Matthew loved fishing, hunting, computers, and hanging out with family and friends. During a January hunting trip this year in Franklin, Texas, he shot
his first deer with his little brother Zachary. Matthew will be remembered as a shy, quiet soul who was fiercely loyal, kindhearted, quick to share a friendly smile, and always there to help a person in need.
Matt is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Kenneth and Lucille Jarvis Lambeth and Aunt Shirley Moreno. He is survived by his father, Robert Lambeth, Jr. and wife Kimberly; and his mother, Diana Wolverton, maternal grandmother Dana Torres; Matthew's oldest brother, Robert Lambeth III and wife Jeannine, along with their daughter's Julie and Lilly; brothers Zachary Lambeth and Ross M. Wolverton II and wife Ashley and their child Khloe. He is also survived by his sister Lindsay Lambeth, paternal aunts Peggy Lambeth Davis and husband Kevin, Sherri Lambeth Dwyer and husband Brian, maternal aunt Kim and husband Eddie Eichman, maternal uncle Wesley Davis, along with numerous cousins.
All services will take place Thursday, August 11, 2011 starting with visitation from 10:00a.m. - 11:30a.m. at Beresford Funeral Service.
A celebration of Matthew's life will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Houston's Second Baptist Church, Woodway Campus, Hankamer Chapel.
The graveside burial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery with Pastor Wallace Henley of Second Baptist-Katy officiating both the memorial and graveside services.
