Minnie Esther Mildred Grossman

Born to Willie and Selma Peschke in Paige, Texas, Minnie was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2006. Mother worked at Lamar Café in the Lamar Hotel. After her marriage to Frank Grossman, she went on to pursue her true calling in childcare. She loved and nurtured hundreds of babies and toddlers in the Spring Branch area. She was lucky enough to be around to care for some of their children as well.
Minnie was a charter member of St. Marks Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities for several years. She then joined Concordia Lutheran Church. The ladies club and all of their activities were a source of joy and camaraderie over the years. Thank you for all your friendship and comfort.
She was the matriarch of our family, always remaining the same, indomitable and steadfast. A loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Minnie is survived by her brother Charles Peschke, Clarence Peschke and wife Ann, her daughter Cynthia Jones and husband Richard, her grandchildren, Sean Royall and wife Courtney, John Ferguson, Crystal Coffing and husband Gary, great-grandchildren Rebecca and Andrew Royall, Grayson, Adrian and Blake Coffing, a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 9:00 to 11:00am, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4115 Blalock Rd, Houston, Texas 77080. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, burial services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Afterward, a reception will be held at the church. Wouldn’t it be great if her job in Heaven will be to care for all of the angel babies until their mommies and daddies come to claim them? She was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.
