In Memory of
Norma Lee Williams
-

Norma Lee (Peggy) Williams was born September 21, 1924 in Blyth, CA.  The family moved to Dilly, TX in 1928 and then to Houston around 1932.  She attended Washington Jr. High and Lamar Senior High School, graduating in 1942.  She was married to En. Ernest M. Bailey Jr. on October 28, 1944, he died April 16, 1945 while in action over Japan.  Peggy married Lewis C. Williams on December 26, 1949.  She helped found The L. C. Williams Co. that made Christmas Decorations for cities and towns over the entire U. S.

Lewis and Peggy were active in Politics working in the Republican Party on the local level and later in the national arena.  Their friends included some of the oldest families of Houston.  Peggy was both a daughter of the Republic of Texas and Daughter of the Confederacy.  It was no coincidence that her faith was strong, as her great grandfather founded 7 churches in central Texas in the 1800’s.   Peggy loved traveling, shopping, flower gardening, good food, and dash hounds.  She knew her Bible too and could hold her own in any theological discussion.  She knew and trusted in the promises of God in Jesus Christ and this should be how she is remembered best, that she truly loved the Lord Jesus Christ.  She died on May 23, 2011 at the age of 86.

Her family will remember her as a mother who loved her children, her grandchildren, and her great grand children.  In order of birth, Ernest M. Bailey (Rusty), Melinda McCreary, Lewis Charles Williams Jr. (Charlie), Cassandra Pantojo (Sandy), Grand Children, Aaron Bailey, Joel Platt, Amy Haynes, Andrew Platt, Courtney Taylor, Christin Breauer, Daniel Platt, Cori Mitchell, Taylor Williams.  12 great grand children with 4 more on the way.  We will miss you Mom.
