Ramona Ramirez Branker was born in Mexico on October 28, 1950, and passed away in Houston, Texas at the age of 75 on March 3, 2026.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, at Beresford Funeral Service from 1pm to 3pm.
Ramona is survived by her husband and best friend Anthony C. Branker, her son, Dr. Anthony J. Branker, her daughters Dr. Amanda Ellis, Mrs. Camelle Hightower, her son-in-law Klay C. Ellis and her grandchildren Will Howard, Isaac Anthony Branker, Caleb Ellis and Sophia Angelina Ellis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, siblings, sisters, extended family and friends who she loved wholeheartedly. Ramona considered her nephew Enrique Naranjo Gómez a son, and in her final years of life she formed a special bond with Amalia Duque Batista, who she came to call “hija.” Amalia committed herself to providing Ramona with care, friendship, laughter, and love. Ramona will be remembered for her courage, strength, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

I am deeply saddened about the passing of such a wonderful friend and former colleague. Ramona's or Monchis, as we used to call her, warmth and professional spirit left a lasting impact on all of us, and she will be sincerely missed.
