Ruby Lee Smith was born on January 11, 1978 in Houston, Texas and passed away in Houston on August 27, 2019.

A mother, a daughter, a sister, and a very loved true friend to many, who’s smile is brighter than the sunshine on the most sunniest day, who’s energy shined and glowed shinier than the shiniest star in the universe, unfortunately left the earth sooner than later, but will be with us eternally throughout the universe, connected as one to us all, always and forever.

One of the smartest strongest women on earth to ever breathe air and smile with love ❤️ God bless her soul.

A visitation will be held at Beresford Funeral Service on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 10:30am to 12:00pm with the funeral beginning at 12:00pm. A graveside service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

My Ruby, my dearest step-sister. You were such a beautiful person. I admired you and could only dream of having the strength you carried. We had so many laughs, shared secrets only sisters could share, we got into our share of mischief. We were thicker than thieves. As we grew older our lives went down different directions. And as adults life carried us away. Phone calls here and there and playing tag on Facebook wasn't the same as how we were as children, but the love I feel has never changed. My heart is heavy as you journey on to a place I cannot follow. No more pain and tears for you my sweet sister. You deserve to fly high and be at peace. Save me a place beside you and my father and grandmother, one day when I'm ready I'll see you again!
