Rudy Contreras, 45, passed away in Katy, Texas on Saturday, September 10, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1965 in Robstown, Texas to Doroteo and Aurora Garza Contreras.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sylvia A. Contreras; daughters, Crystal Amanda Contreras and Samantha Michelle Contreras; brothers, Doroteo Jr., Raul, Roberto, Rey, and Ruben Contreras; sisters, Gloria Mendez and Lydia Secrist; and his mother, Aurora G. Contreras.
He is preceded in death by his father, Doroteo C. Contreras Sr.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2011 from 6 to 9 pm at Beresford Funeral Service, with Rosary at 7:30 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Carmen Nelson Bostick Historic Cemetery.

It's only been a few days and I already miss you so much. I'm thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of us together. I can't think of anybody with a bigger heart and there's nobody in the world who can fill the hole you left in mine. I know one day we will be together again and I'm sure you will have a few jokes waiting for me. Till then goodbye for now. I love you.

I still remember the very first day I met you on your front porch when I rang your doorbell. You opened the door said what you want Mailman. Your signature dude . Hi I'm Rudy want a water, need to use the restroom ? I see you take your lunch at the park , come by the house and take your breaks over here. That's how the last ten years of friendship started . Since then we went fishing, shooting guns, built a deck together, cooked and ate and joked around till we cried .
