Samuel Zuniga

Samuel Zuniga passed away at the age of 72 after a courageous fight against illness on October 11, 2022, surrounded by his 3 kids and lovely wife.  He was born on August 20, 1950, in Durango, Mexico to Apolinar Zuniga and Maria Zuniga.

Samuel met the love of his life, Maria Zuniga in his natal town of San Juan de Guadalupe Durango, Mexico.  They were married on October 7, 1977.  Short after, Samuel moved to Houston, Texas where he found a better paying job to provide a better future to his wife and kids.  Then, in 1972, Samuel and his whole family made Houston, Texas their permanent home. He loved spending time with his grandkids.  He was the best grandpa his grandkids could ever dream about.  He was a die-hard Astros fan.  He never missed a game on TV.  But most of all, he loved his family and was a great provider, mentor, and companion.

Samuel is survived by his loving wife, Maria Zuniga; their 3 children, Griselda Zuniga, Monica Zuniga and Samuel Zuniga, Jr.  8 grandchildren Natalie, Ivan, Xavier, Aries, Samantha, Judith, Skye, and Ximena; Brothers Tomas, Vicente and Manuel and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service, 13501 Alief Clodine Rd. Houston, Texas 77082.  Visitation will be from 10am to 1pm.  The Funeral Service will begin at 1pm and will be officiated by Deacon Juan de Dios.  Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, Texas 77077.
