Beloved sister and aunt Shirley Ann Evans passed away peacefully on the evening of February 8, 2022. Born in Mexia, Texas to Shirley Rae and Bert Allen on July 28, 1939, Shirley Ann was raised in Houston, Texas.
Shirley Ann was retired from Coastal Corporation after many years there. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Shirley Ann; she loved a quiet evening with family and preparing delicious meals using one of her many cookbooks. An avid reader, Shirley
Shirley Ann is survived by her dear sister Bette Weirich, niece Elizabeth Villarreal and her husband, Ernest, nephews William Griffith, IV, and Mark Griffith and his wife, Mandi, 11 great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew, all of whom she loved so very much. Shirley Ann was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Bert David Allen.
The family would like to extend sincerest thanks to Shirley Ann’s caregivers, especially Tamika Charles, for their loving care of Shirley Ann during her long illness.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm in the chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. The graveside service will be on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2 pm at Brookside Memorial Park.

Ann was also quite an accomplished seamstress. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Shirley Ann’s beautiful laugh was infectious to those who knew her. Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will truly be missed.
