
Sydney Emmanuel Chambers, a dedicated U.S Army veteran and a beloved son and brother passed away on April 8th, 2025 in Austin, Texas, at the age of 31. He was born on June 7, 1993 in Houston, Texas and was the son of Michael Chambers and Laura Bernard. Sydney lived a life marked by bravery, service, and resilience to his country.
He was a graduate of Kings Gate Prep School in Kingston, Jamaica. After high school, Sydney returned to Houston, Texas where shortly after, he enlisted into the United States Army in Fall 2013. A proud member of the United States Army, Sydney served with distinction, earning the rank of Sergeant during his service. He was a decorated veteran who received a number of medals and decorations to recognize his service, achievements, and accomplishments.
Beyond his military service, Sydney was a kind, adventurous, humorous person with an infectious smile who touched the lives of many. Sydney had a love for traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved nothing more than being surrounded by those he loved. He was a loving son and brother who cherished his family deeply and always made time for them despite his demanding schedule. Sydney’s loss was a great loss to his family and friends, who will always remember him as a kind, loving, young man. He is survived by his father Michael Chambers, his mother, Laura Bernard, and his siblings, Michael and Mandy Chambers. His memory will forever be cherished.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8th at Beresford Funeral Service from 10am to 12pm. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 1:15pm.
