
Xiangjun Xiao, of Houston, Texas, passed away at age 76 after a sudden illness on April 5, 2025, in Houston. He was born on 11/8/1948 to Xinchu Xiao and Dilan Liu in Hunan, China.
Xiangjun was born just before the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Growing up alongside the “New China”, he experienced famine and disrupted education before starting to earn his own keep as a railway maintenance worker at fifteen.

The coming 30 years saw Xiangjun working at different jobs and enterprises to support a family of 4 daughters, who all obtained higher education due to their parents’ tireless efforts.
Xiangjun and his wife started their life in the United States in 2003 and Xiangjun spent his last 20 years in Houston. He enjoyed an active life and kept working till the last month of his life.
Xiangjun is survived by his loving wife, Jia Shi and 4 daughters: Jiamei Xiao, Jiahua Xiao, Jiarong Xiao and Jiali Xiao.
Services will be held on April 11, 2025, at Beresford Funeral Service and the Funeral will begin at 1pm.
The family has decided on a private graveside service.

The unbelievable turmoil and cruelty that unfolded in the Chinese Cultural Revolution in
between 1966 and 1976 quickly pushed him to maturity. It was during this period he met his wife, Jia Shi, and they married on October 1, 1971.
The coming 30 years saw Xiangjun working at different jobs and enterprises to support a family of 4 daughters, who all obtained higher education due to their parents’ tireless efforts.
Xiangjun and his wife started their life in the United States in 2003 and Xiangjun spent his last 20 years in Houston. He enjoyed an active life and kept working till the last month of his life.
