David John Escobar, 62, went to be with Our Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 after suffering an embolism. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janet Escobar, his two daughters, Maria Teresa of Houston and Maria Elena of Dallas, his father and step mom, Bernardo and Delfina Escobar of Katy, his sister, Margie de la Vega and nephew, Joshua de la Vega.
David was born in Havana, Cuba in 1945 and lived there until 1959. He then came to Houston where he spent his remaining years. After finishing high school, he attended the University Of Houston and then began his
David and Janet were married in 1980 and spent 26 wonderful years as husband and wife.
David was a person who loved life, his family and his friends deeply. He was known for his jokes and his easy laugh, his smile and his compassion. He never met a stranger and within the hour you felt he was one of your friends because he would know your life history. He was just so open and loving he collected friends in every walk of his life. He will be sorely missed by his wife, his family and friends.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be held on August 27, 2007 at 3 pm and will be at Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church located at 2655 South Mason Road. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lupus Foundation in memory of David and in honor of his daughter Maria T. Escobar.

career as a civil/structural designer. He worked for a number of engineering firms in Houston during his career. David’s two daughters, Maria Teresa and Maria Elena, were born in 1963 and 1964 and were truly the apples of their daddy’s eye.
David and Janet were married in 1980 and spent 26 wonderful years as husband and wife.
