David Marshall Boyce, 80, passed away on November 20, 2021 in Houston, Texas. He was born on July 22, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Harold S. Boyce and Mary C. (Marshall) Boyce.
David graduated from Joe T Robinson high school before joining the US Navy in 1959 where he served honorably. He returned home and worked in air conditioning design for several years. He joined the Peace Corps in 1967 and was assigned to Perak, Malaysia for several years where he established an Industrial Arts Program. He returned home in 1970 and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, obtaining a BA in economics and math in 1972. Following graduation, he was an HVAC sales manager and engineer for several companies in Ark, La, and Tx until 2009. He taught mathematics at Kempner High School in Houston for 8 years. He enjoyed nature, water sports, and seeking spiritual wisdom.
David is survived by his son, Richard Boyce & wife Candi; daughter, Sonya Boyce; brother, William H. Boyce & wife Catherine; sister, Mary Margaret Berthiaume; and six grandchildren.
Burial will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10:45 A.M. at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038).

I knew Dave in the 9th grade at Pulaski Hts Elementary. We stayed in touch over the years when he and Eve moved to Houston. Many fun times together as members of GGB stealing watermelons and goin to juke joints. We had a ton of fun. A wonderful smile, big heart and infectious sense of humor. Will sorely miss him.
David was a wonderful older brother. We had many good memories and times together. He loved his entire family and all his friends. He loved to travel and learned all he could about wherever he went. He loved to read and learning was important to him. Mostly, he loved people and wanted to help all he could. I will miss David very much and always be grateful he was my big brother. RIP
