Madeline Carol Edwards of Houston, Texas was called beyond this existence on November 12, 2015. She was peacefully transitioned from life at West Houston Medical Center.
Madeline (Carol) was born on March 17, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York; she was the youngest daughter of Edward and Verena (Brown) Lewis, both who preceded her in death.
Madeline (Carol) grew up in Brooklyn and attended and graduated from the public school system of New York, NY. She graduated of Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, NY, and attended New York City Tech College; and was a graduate of Brooklyn College.
She spent her professional and working career as an educator, counselor, driving instructor and security personnel officer.
At an early age she joined the Church of the Open Door, where she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and remained committed to her faith throughout her life. As a member of the Youth Choir, often she graced us with her beautiful, angelic, and melodious voice. Madeline (Carol) displayed a true passion for life, friendship, family, and making in others laugh, by the radiant enthusiasm she imparted. She was an avid reader, passionate singer and productive songwriter. Her greatest moments were when she spent time with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her life companion, Steve Rentas of Houston, TX.; son, Eldond Glenn Edwards of Brooklyn, NY; daughter, Myrei Chrysti Edwards-Asmussen and son-in-law Dr. Sven Asmussen of Wilhelmshaven, Germany / Houston, TX; daughter, Verena Laneva Edwards, Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren: Ranson Christopher Smith, Aaron Malik Smith, Maddox Omari Harper and Manning Imani Harper; sister, Rothella, and brother in-law, Edwin Halliburton, Brooklyn, NY, along with a host consisting of an uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
