Nancy Joy Gilmer lived over 80 years. She was born the second child of Hermine Fruendensprung and Roy Burnett. Her siblings are Teddy Roy Burnett and Troyce Ann Rejsek. Troyce is married to George Rajsek. Nancy grew up in East Bernard, Texas, went to Wharton Junior College and got her Associate degree in clerical. She worked for a few doctors and dentist, moved to Houston and worked as Second Baptist Elementary School Secretary which was perfect for her! She always glowed
Nancy and her husband Fred met in Sunday school at South Main Baptist church in Houston and they married in the year 2000. They were married 25 years. She and Fred started attending Second Baptist West campus in Katy, Texas and made many friends. After a lengthy illness, she lived at a nursing home in Katy, Texas for a year and went home to be with the Lord and loved ones July 9th, 2025. All her family and friends find comfort in knowing she went into the arms of Jesus and is so happy reunited with loved ones.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Rosenberg Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas.

around the children. It was obvious the children adored her and always chose her to babysit when their parents needed a babysitter.

I taught in the lower school at Second Baptist School. Nancy was one of the secretaries at SBS. Nancy was kind to everyone. She greeted us every morning with her beautiful smile. Everyone loved Nancy and appreciated everything thing that she did for us. She will be missed by all who loved her.
