Nancy Dolores Stanley
-

Nancy Dolores (Hickman) Stanley, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2025, in Katy, Texas.  She was born on December 27, 1935 in Waco, Texas.

She was born and raised in Texas, a place she dearly loved and proudly called home her entire life. A devoted Texan through and through, her favorite flowers were the iconic yellow rose and the beautiful bluebonnet. She came to know the Lord at the age of fifteen and faithfully walked with Him throughout her life. Her love for Jesus was evident in the way she lived, and she was a faithful churchgoer until her health no longer allowed. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her kind spirit, strong faith, and unwavering love for Texas will be fondly remembered. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Caldwell, Gregory Caldwell, Becky Parker & husband Kent, Todd Caldwell, and R. Dewyn Caldwell & Wife Liz; 20 grandchildren 46 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  She is also survived by her best friend of 75 years, Pat Mallard.

She is preceded by her son, Richard Caldwell, husband; William F. Stanley; her brother, Tommy Hickman; an infant granddaughter, and her parents, Russell Harris Hickman and Opal Bernadine (Smith) Hickman.

Graveside Service will be on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Willow Creek Cemetery near Hallettsville, Texas at 10:00AM.

You were a good mother. You made many sacrifices for your children.
Mostly for me. Your youthful years were cut short in order to give me life.
Your many opportunities in life were greatly narrowed. My accomplishments
are your successes.
As I recall you were a Cub Scout den mother and, in the PTA. You were a full-time mom and worked. Worked as a doctor's assistant and helped run a grocery store. You had many friends; many were for life.
Anyone who thinks being a mother isn't a career hasn't truly been one.
You are missed, but never ever forgotten and appreciated.
I am happy that you are in God's hands.

You were a wonderful Aunt. You meant everything to my dad. I'm glad to know you are together again. I didn't have nearly enough time to spend with you over the years, but the time that I did have was special to me. I will always love you.
