Tribute to Nneka Martha TonyAkwuegbu by her Husband:

"Nneka Martha Tony Akwuegbu (Nee Olua) Ogbeyialu as I fondly called her was born to the family of late Felix Ibekwe Olua and Ebere Olua on the 24th of May, 1976 in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria.

She attended Zik Avenue Primary School Enugu, and secondary school education at Uwani Secondary School, Enugu. She furthered her studies in Accountancy at Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, Enugu State.  In the quest to improve herself and position herself for a better career, she went further to obtain a BSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.  She also attended short programs where she obtained several certificates.

Nneka Tony Akwuegbu did her NYSC in Port Harcourt Rivers State with Benek Engineering Company and was retained by the firm after her NYSC program. She also worked briefly for the then (Now defunct) Platinum Bank, she moved further to work with Shell East Staff Investment Cooperative Society Ltd (Coopeast). She spent seven years there until she was hired by the Shell Petroleum Development Company in the Logistics Department. She was very conscientious and dedicated to her job that everyone loved her. Nneka was a problem solver and was loved by everyone.

She met and married the love of her life, the husband of her youth in Port Harcourt, Sir Anthony Akwuegbu in June 2007.  The two of them stayed through their marital vows in love, friendship, as best of companions until her promotion to glory on the 19th December 2020 after a protracted illness that she fought to the last because of the love for the husband.

Ogbeyialu my wife was a devoted and dedicated Christian who lived a life of pure faith in God, a firm advocate for peace and tolerance. She made excuses for everyone because she believes everyone has their issues to deal with. She was lowly in heart, gentle in spirit, and an epitome of humility and respect.

She never demanded but always giving and making sure everyone around was happy. Nneka will be forever remembered for her love of the Holy Scriptures and her unwavering faith in God even at the point of death.

She was indeed a rare precious gem and will forever be missed by her husband Sir. Anthony Akwuegbu.  May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Adieu Babe, OgbeyialuNneka!!!!"
