Otilia “Tila” Apodaca, 66, our beautiful and loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Humble, Texas. She was surrounded by her family who witnessed her beautiful passing. Moments before passing, she stared up at the ceiling, then smiling as though she saw someone who had come to meet and guide her into the next world, her eyes glazing over as she drew her last breath.
Otilia was born March 28, 1954 in Port Isabel, Texas to Isidoro Ochoa, Sr. and Conception Salazar Ochoa. She was the middle child of six children. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1972. She was married for 47 years to the love of her life, Alexander Apodaca, Sr. Together they raised two sons, Alexander, Jr. and Philip, in a house full of love and amazing memories. Family was everything to her and she cherished every minute she got to spend with them. She loved taking road trips with her husband, creating crafts and exploring her genealogy. There was never anything her grandkids participated in that she wasn’t right there cheering them on. She was an amazing cook and loved cooking for her
family. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She loved her family deeply. She was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints where she loved to teach Primary. She was a woman of faith. Her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ influenced many for good.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years Alexander, Sr.; children, Alexander, Jr. (wife Maria) and Philip Glen (wife Alma); 5 grandchildren, Eric Anthony, Alyssa Rene, Erin Alexia, Ian Alexander, and Diego Elias; her beloved mother Concepcion Ochoa; brother, Isidoro Ochoa, Jr. (wife Mary Helen); brother, Robert Ochoa, Sr. (wife Anna Ochoa); sister, Jinnie Alvarez (husband Albert); and brother Mickey Ochoa (husband Bart Oliphant).
She is preceded in death by her father, Isidoro Ochoa, Sr.; and her sister Maria Medina.
