Perfecto Rivera, Jr.

Perfecto started life on the island of Puerto Rico on November 5, 1952. Born in Mayaguez, he left the island as a small child and traveled to Hoboken, NJ where he would enjoy the days of his youth. He enjoyed sports such as handball and racquetball in the streets of his neighborhood. He loved Salsa music and even joined a band in his young age. Not many people knew that he even loved to sing. He met the love of his life, Olga at the age of 13 and chased her for years before she even gave him the time of day. Eventually they fell in love and started a family, which would grow to 4 children and 9 grandchildren and place them in Houston, TX where he remained for the rest of his life. He was capable of so many things and had many professions. 

Above all, his best attribute was that he loved so freely. The best time for him was when his family was together, and he was with his grandchildren that brought him so much joy. He was an amazing man and a loving father who will be truly missed by all those he touched. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, his children Alex, Gabrielle, Candido and Juan and his grandchildren Alec, Arianna, Alyssa, Aidan, Natalie, Diego, Aaron, Santiago, and Ava. 
 
Your children carry your light so that it may shine upon your grandchildren as they grow. They’ll be able to look upon it with all their hopes and aspirations. You live with us in everything we do. This isn’t goodbye, we know it’s only a see you later...
