In Memory of
William Mitchell Jasper "Bill"
-

William "Bill" Mitchell Jasper, 40, of Houston, Texas passed away on September 28, 2007. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Lakewood Church (3700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77027) with Rev. Dodie Osteen officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the same location prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX (281) 497-2210.

Bill was a loving man with an unusually compassionate heart and a kind and gentle soul. He was also very funny, loved to act silly, told great stories and made all who came in contact with him laugh (and he had the most beautiful smile!). His favorite place to be for peace and tranquility was his family's farm in La Grange, Texas which they called "The Land."

Bill loved the outdoors. He loved to fish. He and his wife Stacie went fishing often and spent a great deal of time on their island property off the Texas coast and in the Gulf of Mexico fishing. They enjoyed boating, listening to music (and make up their own words to the songs), riding their dirt bikes and dancing. They loved to play word games while on road trips, of which they took many. They liked to just get in their car and go and end up wherever they ended up. One of their favorite things to do together (which they did several times a month) was "go to the alligators"...a park in a small town outside of Houston where the alligators run free and you can walk right past them. But most of all, they loved to laugh. He also loved the two dogs, Fred and Max, that he and Stacie had.

Bill always had many friends from the time he was a little boy. He also loved gardening, writing poetry and scary movies. Bill also had a very close relationship with the Lord and had memorized many passages from the Bible. His relationship with Jesus was unusually unique and extremely special.

Bill and his dad were best friends. They have been very close and for the last nine years have worked together daily in developing their business. Bill's entire family will miss him dearly.

Bill also had a very close relationship with his daughter, Kristen, age 17. He loved his daughter very much and when she was little he used to cry everyday he would drop her off at day care. They had a very unique relationship and loved each other very much. Kristen will miss her daddy dearly.

Pallbearers will be John Beck, Donald Chase, Craig Carter, Dr. John Joubert, Lyle Milstead, Johnny Raus, Max Strubelt, James Wadlington. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Mitchell and Steve Mitchell.

To my dearest brother-in-law. What a gift you gave my sister, Stacie Jo Jasper. Just to have you in her life. You were her best friend. You were so good for her and changed her life. Although, you both seemed to amaze me with going on your boat during hurricanes and walking with the alligators. Remember the time when you thought the slime was an alligator? Your niece Lauren does and she thinks that is so funny! Remember you told us what heaven is going to look like? I WANT those ruby floors with diamond doorknobs. Lauren thinks you are the funniest (with your iced milk)and the wisest man in the world. It is funny she says that because I bragged about you and still do. I have NEVER seen anyone quote (not interpret)the Bible like you. You were right with God and you were saved. GOD IS FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL AND HE HAS SET A PLAN INTO MOTION FROM THE DAY YOU WERE CONCEIVED AS TO HOW WE WOULD GO. YOU WERE PUT ON THIS EARTH TO FULFILL A PURPOSE AND ONCE THAT PURPOSE WAS FULFILLED HE THEN CALLED YOU HOME. I believe that you have given me another chance with the Lord. Something I never had before. I want to thank you for changing my life. Listen to me. I have never PREACHED like I have before and YOU did this to me. YOU have fulfilled a purpose with me. OK, Here I go again! What did you do to me? The Bible says that He will not allow one to stand more than one can bear and that He is our strength. You believed and you are now OK. I did not truly know the Bible until I met you.
Jesus will promise you one thing and this is by far my favorite one for you. He said "I am the resurrection and the life-he who believes in me though he may die-yet shall he live." John 11:25. You know how clueless I was about the Bible. You are smiling now, I know. You have fulfilled your purpose!!! You asked me if I knew the sinners prayer? You told me and you said it. You confessed and He saved you everyday. You belong to Him! You are forgiven and we love you. Oh and when we see you, let's build the biggest sand castle ever!!!!!

Apsari and I wish to express our deepest condolences to all of Bill’s family and friends. As I sit here in shock and dismay contemplating the loss of my friend Bill all of the memories of him and the times we shared come flooding back. Of course the overriding image is of that irrepressible grin. In this time of pain and loss we must all remember that that smile is not lost to us that enjoyed the pleasure and honor of Bill’s friendship and love. It is not lost because it will live on in all our hearts forever.

To a wonderful man named Bill. I want to express what a great impact you had on my best friend's life. When Stephanie came back from Texas, she couldn't stop talking about what a woderful person you were. You made an impact on her life and that makes me happy! Although we have never met, I have learned what a generous person you have been. All my best wishes to your family. Rest in peace.
